  1. Although I understand the importance of backing political candidates during election time I think it is ridiculous at the sums of money being given. The small percentage of rich people in America are have so much more control over our government. Money being given leads to corruption in political parties. Rich people offer to pay more money and then later on hold it over the candidates head if they do get elected. The people may be "donating" the money, but they are for sure expecting to get favors as repayment. If a rich person gives millions of dollars to a political candidate and they win the election, what is to say they try to hold that over the winners head and get what they want.

  2. I do agree with what Linsey has said above. I do believe it is important for candidates to have proper funds to properly run of office and get to all of America. However, I don't feel it is fair that the rich have so much power because of their 'donations'. Even though they are simply donations I have a hard time believing that they don't get some kind of perks or favors in return. I think it give unfair votes and screws up the whole voting system. The reason why we have a voting system is so that everything is fair and so that the nation itself chooses who will lead us but that whole system has been tainted by the rich using their money to their own powers.

  3. I agree with Darby. The point of voting is to create a sense of equality, that everyone is a part of the process of choosing their leaders. As I do understand that to the wealthy have a higher status because of their money, it is unjust to say that they should have more right to choose leaders than those in the lower economy classes. Though the wealthy do donate, their intentions are questionable. They must be receiving perks in return for their donations, making their decision to donate less valuable.
